Relay Photos!

Our team captain, aka: my workout buddy, took the following pictures at the relay and was kind enough to share them with me.

here's another shot of our campsite:

And another...with some of my friends/team members....

that evening....if you look close, you can see my back, over on the left, behind the palm tree...with the short brownish/blonde hair.

our team members...I'm behind Kristi, the girl with the long dark hair...you can see my back and part of my profile. The girl looking at the camera is pregnant. She lasted all night too...I was SO PROUD of her!

Here is Mel, in the pie contest... The participants had to dig through the pie with their face, find the piece of gum and blow a bubble...whoever blew a bubble first won. She is such a good sport!

Relay

The Relay went GREAT! At last count, we raised over $50,000 for the fight against Cancer.

Our team captain got there early to start setting up, and as the rest of could get there, we helped. I got there around 5pm, and brought ice for our Palm Tree Coolers, to keep the drinks cold. We sold cokes, Monster Energy Drinks, little luau duckies, and glow necklaces. We also gave anyone who purchased, a free lea.

We had a schedule and were going to take turns walking, but we soon discovered that it was more fun to walk together, and talk while we walked (it made the time go by faster). We walked off/on (rotating out) from 7pm until around 5am. By then we were all worn out. We sent one of our members home, who was prego with Twins. By this time, we went over and got some breakfast (muffin), and then started cleaning up our campsite. We were all so exhausted, we were ready to have it all cleaned up and ready to go as soon as this was over. So we started cleaning up, and noticed other teams were already leaving. So instead of doing the closing ceremony at 6:30am, they ended up doing it at 5:30am. So we finished cleaning up, and left by 6am. I drove the 30 minute drive home, and was literally hitting myself in the face, hard, just to stay awake, and keep my eyes open. Luckily there wasn't any traffic out, but man, what a long drive home! Once I walked in the door, my hubby sent me to bed. I told him I needed to stay up, because Levi wanted me to go to his t-ball game, but he said Levi would understand that I needed to sleep. So I crawled in bed at 7am and slept until they got home from the t-ball game at 11:30am. I then got up. I was sore and exhausted. I pretty much just laid around and did nothing for the rest of the day. (hence the reason the boys were bringing me flowers to cheer me up..since they thought I must be sick since I wasn't my normal self). :) But it was so worth it! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Here was our campsite. We won 1st place for most creative/decorated campsite! yea!!! This got us FREE registration for Next Year! :)

Our Team Name was H2O: Helping 2 Overcome. So we went with a "Water" theme, and did a luau. I think it turned out really cute!

On of the girls on our Team designed our T-shirts. She did a GREAT job! Here is a photo of the front. The back said "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back."

I did this in Remembrance of my Papaw (my Mom's Daddy). He battled cancer long and hard, but wasn't able to overcome it. God decided to take him on home to heaven, and relieve his pain and suffering, back in July 2006. We all miss him, but I'm very blessed to know that he IS in heaven and I WILL see him again someday.

Flowers

Stephen was going to mow on Saturday, so the boys jumped in their John Deere Gator and drove around our back yard, picking flowers and filling up their bucket. It was over-flowing when they came inside with it. I filled two vases! They were so proud of themselves. Just look at those smiles! Seth told his Daddy, "we picked mommy flowers, and made her happy". It was so sweet. I was pretty much a zombie on Saturday, from being up all night, walking..so the boys thought I was sick or something, and were trying to cheer me up. Aren't they the sweetest!

Relay

I'm going to be doing a Relay all night tonight, to raise money for cancer research/education/etc. It should be fun, and I'm really looking forward to hanging out with my friends all night. They are all really fun, so I know we will have a good time. I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

MJ, you have just got to TRY Yoga at least once. I've tried "videos", but never liked them, because I felt like I did nothing but lay around and stretch. But this class was so much different that those tapes. I was breathing hard, my clothes were soaked with sweat, and my muscles were shaking like crazy! I was actually sore yesterday and today from it! I felt like I was working as hard, during that class, as when I am running. Yet it was relaxing at the same time...you've just got to try it! :)

Our boys are having fun helping Daddy build an extension on our shed. It is a covered parking area, on half of the concrete slab, for our tractor, lawn mowers, kids 4 wheeler, etc. He took off of work Tuesday and I helped him get the rafters/roof and half of the siding on it. We still have to put the shingles on, and finish the sides. But it is coming along nicely, and the boys love helping Daddy build, so they are in hog-heaven at the moment. :) I'll post some before/after photos soon..so ya'll can see.

Hubby will have the boys by himself tonight. Since I'll be at the Relay, he'll have to take them to the T-ball game tonight (if they have it, it just came a downpour) and then of course make them dinner, get them in bed etc. At least I'm married to a wonderful man who is capable of doing all of this, and I don't have to worry. I'm a lucky woman. :)

Yoga!

Last night I took my very first Yoga class. It was at my husband's work, so we did it together. Our boys sat quietly in the floor behind us, in the back of the room. They were so good, and I was so proud of them. Levi said "That looked hard!" haha We encouraged them to try it with us next time, but they didn't think that sounded like such a good idea! haha
It was GREAT though. I loved it! Plus seeing my handsome hubby trying to bend/move in those yoga poses was fun to! haha He is actually good at it though, not very flexible, but very strong and could hold the poses well. I was impressed.
While we were working out, my muscles were shaking, from head to toe. You wouldn't think it would be that intense, but it is. I was dripping with sweat, and my clothes were soaked by the time it was over. Today I am actually sore from it to! Wow! I'm thinking I really like this class...I was so relaxed afterwards, and I slept like a baby last night. I didn't want to get up when my alarm went off this morning, for me to go to the gym, but I dragged myself out of bed anyway..knowing I would feel better after I got there, and got started. :)

Levi's so funny...

We were eating dinner at the Old-fashioned hamburger place, and they had this old jukebox that people were putting money in and selecting music. It was mostly all country music playing. We are sitting here eating, and there is a song on, and we're not really paying attention...and in one part it said "I want to kiss her lips", and all the sudden Levi blurts out a giggle! it was hilarious. It got me and Stephen laughing...and then Levi is laughing and he said "kiss her on the lips?!" and the way he said it and the look on his face was like "why would anyone want to do something silly like that?!" haha
Animations - faces 003

Maybe you just had to be there, but it was hilarious. Just when you think they aren't even paying attention to the music, and then something gets them tickled, that we wouldn't even notice. It was funny!
We were crawling in bed last night, and got to laughing about it all over again. Just that little burst of a giggle.....I'm laughing again, just thinking about it! hahahaaaa

Wonderful Weekend!

This weekend was wonderful! We took the boys out to eat at a old-fashioned hamburger/soda fountain place on Friday. It was so good! Then we ran by the movie place on our way home, watched movies/ate popcorn that evening.

On Saturday Levi had a t-ball game. While we were there, the men came out and poured our concrete slab (by the shed. it's a large area, for working on/parking the tractor, etc., and to play basketball). We got home about the time they were finishing that up, and we started mowing. After we finally, almost, finished mowing, we had to get ready and go to a bowling tournament. Stephen had been asked to fill in, and we were just going with him to watch. However, when we got there, we found out that one of their women didn't show up. So they had me fill in for her. I warned them that I wasn't any good though, and they assured me that they weren't either, they were just there to have fun. So I played. It was so much fun! We got to play 3 games! None of us were great, except for Stephen who is always great at everything. (I'm telling you, it is hard being married to a perfectionist! haha Of course I was very proud of him!!!). While we were playing, there was an open lane over by us. Someone asked us if our boys would like to play, along with another little boy who was maybe 3. We said of course they would LOVE it, and the boys were all able to bowl 3 games also. They had a blast too!

Then we got up Sunday and went church. It was amazing! Our pastor is preaching a series about Chasing the Lion. It is so good! The first sermons have been about chasing the lions who seek to devour us, out of our lives, and overcoming our fears of failure. Then the final sermon is going to be about chasing the one True Lion, the LION OF JUDAH! Talk about a powerful series!

Oh, so then after church we came home and grilled some lunch. Then we played basketball on our new slab, with Levi. We all had so much fun. After this, Levi helped me plant some new flowers him and his Daddy had bought for me...then we played more basketball, and then I helped Stephen finish the mowing...and we played some more basketball! haha

Biggest Loser!!!!

Did you see the Biggest Loser Finale last night???!!!??!!!

I was SHOCKED!!!! I couldn't believe that Bernie won the $100,000 prize for the "at home contestants". He beat Mark by 1 POUND!!!! This has definitely been the "1 pound season". I was so happy for him!!!!! Yea Bernie!!!

Then...the big Finale....did you see it?! ALI won!!!! The FIRST FEMALE BIGGEST LOSER!!!! I was SOOOOOO Happy for her. She won the $250,000 grand prize, and looked so amazing!!!!

You know, what I love the most about this show. It isn't about the money. yea, that is a good motivator, but really, it is about helping these people "change their lives" to live a healthy, active lifestyle. To be able to have health insurance! To see their kids grow up, to have babies and carry them full term. It's all about showing these people how to "LIVE" life. It isn't about starving yourself, or "missing out" because you can't eat junk food with everyone else and you have to workout all the time. That isn't is at all! It is about fueling your body for your workouts, to make yourself strong, so that you can LIVE life to the fullest. To play with your kids, to be there to see your kids/grandkids grow up, etc. I just love how this show is helping transform lives, and educating people on the fact that it is possible to achieve all of your goals and dreams.

Seth singing/telling a story

I got a video of Seth singing his ABC's. It is so cute how he sings it. I had to get video of it so I can show it to him when he is older.

Here is Seth, telling me a story. :) He had been singing the song "BINGO" to me, so his story started out kind of like that song....He is so silly.

Levi's Flowers

Every day, Levi picks me flowers. He was very upset when we mowed! So he started going into the back pasture and picking them for me...or picking them at school, or at the baseball field. Pretty much everywhere he goes, he comes home with a handful of flowers for me. So of course, I adore them, and put them in a vase. He is always so proud of the flowers he brings me. I love this moment in time...I know it wont last forever, so I am just going to enjoy every second of it! :)

Thank you Levi! I love my flowers!!!! These are more precious to me than anything money could buy!

T-Ball

The busy world to T-ball has officially begun. Levi had his first game Saturday morning, then we went to a birthday party, then we spent the rest of the afternoon mowing. Oh, and I ran to the store to get some stuff to grill, and while I was out, I ran by the movie store. We watched "The BEE Movie" last night. It was really cute! We all enjoyed it.

Back to T-ball...sorry, got a little sidetracked there...we aren't sure what the score was on this first game. I'm thinking we may have lost..but I'm not sure. We have games every week through the end of May. Wow! We are going to be busy.

Thursday, April 03, 2008

We have been so busy for the past week. We spent most of last week/weekend getting things ready for a party I was going to be having on Sunday afternoon. (It is sad that it takes having party to get me motivated to get projects around the house done....but at least i got it done! haha) I got some deep "spring cleaning" done. Then I finally got the painting done on the outside of our house, around the porches. I also got the flowerbeds weeded and new flowers/bushes planted. Oh, and then we also had to go buy a new riding mower. Ours was a hand-me-down from Stephen's Daddy, and was about 17 years old. It was definitely on it's last and final leg, last summer. So we had to give in and get a new one. Then we were able to mow, and edge everything also.

On Sunday I had my Partylite party. I actually had 8 friends show up, and also got 3 outside orders! Yea!!! I was so excited! I ended up getting $363.15 worth of products for only $43.42! Wowsers!!! I can't wait to get it all in.

Oh, and then I got my second paycheck yesterday! Woo-Hoo!!!! Talk about excited!!!! I had told Ken that it almost seems wrong to get paid for working from home and enjoying the work so much. So he said we could test that theory and I could just work for Free! hahahha!!! He is hilarious! :p But seriously, this is the best job I've ever had! I'm loving it, and getting paid for doing something I enjoy! :) Yea!!!!
My paycheck came at a good time to...when I got up yesterday to go to the gym, I discovered that my coffee maker had only made 1/2 a pot before it died. Talk about heartbroken! :( It just kept gurgling/sputtering and wouldn't make any more coffee. So I turned it off and tried to mess with it later to see if I could get it working, but it was hopeless. So Stephen stopped by walmart last night and got me a new "Coffee Station"! I love it!!!!! No more carafe to mess with, and no more scorched coffee. yea!!! So I totally enjoyed waking up to warm, yummy coffee this morning. Woo-Hoo!!!
