Perfect Tuesday...

How come when I'm not sitting at the computer, I can think of a million things I want to blog about, yet when I sit down, my mind goes blank?! It's very strange.

They boys are doing great. They have basketball games this Saturday, and then the following Saturday is their tournaments and basketball will be over. Of course, then baseball will be starting...

Yesterday was a GREAT day! I had to go do an appraisal during the morning, then go by the bank to have some paperwork notarized in order to renew my appraisal license. While at the bank, my sweet hubby sent me a text and asked me if I wanted to meet him for a lunch date after he finished at work. Of course I said YES!!! I can't remember the last time we have done anything together without the kids. It was so great to have a little time together, and actually be able to talk and carry on a conversation. Plus he came straight from work and was in uniform. He looked SO HANDSOME!! I am one lucky lady. ;) After lunch, I had to get some reports typed up, so Stephen picked the boys up from school and fed them a snack. Then he took them with him, to go play basketball with some of his buddies from work. While they were gone I got 3 reports done, and then ran 8 miles! woo-hoo!!! After they got back, I got the boys in the bath, and then we all snuggled up on the couch to watch biggest loser. Love watching that on DVR, and fast-forwarding through commercials. We got the kids in bed on time, and then finished watching BL. It was a good show, as always. But I am so ready to see BOTH members of the Green team go home. I'm not liking their "bad attitudes". But other than my irritation toward the green team, it was such a wonderful day! My hubby is so wonderful, and I can't thank him enough for yesterday. It was a nice break (to have a quiet house to concentrate and get work/exercise done), and a very nice surprise to have a spur-of-the-moment lunch date. As I said, I'm a very lucky lady.

Monday...

Levi had a fever last night, and woke up with it again this morning. Stephen had to work until Noon today, so I had to reschedule an appraisal and also reschedule my massage (I had an 11:00am appt). Bummer.
The new laptop is GREAT! Love it!!!

This weekend Granny and Papaw came down and watched the boys basketball games. Made the kids day! Neither of them won their games, but they didn't care. They played their best and had fun.

The septic people are coming out to pump out our aerobic septic tank today. just one of the many joys of owning a home. they said we have to have this done about every 5 years or so, and it's not cheap...i really shouldn't be surprised. at least they aren't coming until after stephen gets home from work. its still muddy, so i'm just praying they dont get their truck stuck in our yard.

It's almost time for baseball signups also. There goes another $125. The boys love playing baseball though, so how can you tell them no?! It's due by the end of the month...geesh! Guess I better get to work.
Later!

New Year...started on a sour note....

New Year's Day started out great. The boys and I spent the whole day playing Wii, board games, coloring, playing play-doh, etc. We had a great time! Then right before bed, I went to shut down my computer, and the screen was black and wouldn't wake up so I could shut it down. I had Stephen look at it the next day while I went to do some appraisals. I got back and he said "we have to go buy a new computer". He had completely tore the computer apart, and tested different things and discovered that the internal power supply system was fried. (Praise God that he used to work in IT and build computers. He is so smart about this stuff. Not me! I know how to turn one on and use it, but not how to tear into one and fix stuff.)
Anyway, it was a lost cause.
So we got the boys ready and we drove to town to buy me a new laptop. Come to find out, none of the new laptops take my PC Card. They have all gone to USB wireless cards. So we had to upgrade that also. Thankfully they were able to upgrade mine, without it costing me anything, by me signing a new 2 year contract. Praise God for small miracles! If I would have had to pay for it, it would have cost us $250 for the USB wireless card. Yikes!
I got a new Dell laptop, and I spent all day Sunday and Monday getting everything figured out on this new computer and getting my e-mail, Appraisal software, fax, printers, etc, set up. It was a major chore! But it's all done now, and it's wonderful! I LOVE Windows 7!!! So much easier than Vista.

New Years day may have ended on a sour note, but I've decided that this is going to be a GREAT year! It's all in how you look at life, right. I'm determined to focus on the good things and be thankful for the blessings in my life. Not focus on the bad things or let them get me down, rather laugh about them instead. God has blessed us with great jobs and wonderful family and friends. Life is Good!
